Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

This policy describes what data TallShot (the browser extension) and tallshot.app (this website) do — and, more importantly, do not — collect. It is written to be read, not skimmed. The short version: your screenshots never leave your device, and the extension collects no data about you or your browsing.

1. Screenshot data: none is collected

TallShot's capture, stitching, annotation and export pipeline runs entirely on your device, inside your browser. Specifically:

2. Data stored on your device only

The extension stores a small amount of data locally in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local):

This data never leaves your device except as described in section 3, and is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

3. The single exception: Pro license verification

If — and only if — you purchase and activate a Pro license, the extension contacts our payment provider's license service to verify the key. This request contains only the license key and its activation instance ID. It contains no screenshots, no page data, no browsing information, and no personal identifiers beyond the key itself. Verification happens when you activate, and silently at most once every 7 days afterward. If you never purchase Pro, the extension makes no network requests at all.

4. Purchase data

Purchases are processed by our third-party payment provider (the merchant of record). When you buy Pro, the payment provider collects the information needed to process the transaction — typically your email address, payment details and billing country — under their own privacy policy. The TallShot extension itself never sees or stores your payment details. We receive from the provider only what is necessary to deliver and support your license (your email and order reference).

5. This website

tallshot.app is a static website. It does not use advertising trackers and does not set marketing cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may log standard technical request data (such as your IP address) under Google's privacy policy. Our hosting provider may keep standard server access logs.

6. Data sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for their own purposes. Period.

7. Your rights

Because the extension collects no personal data, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For purchase-related data (your email and order records held by the payment provider), you can contact us and we will assist with access or deletion requests, subject to legal record-keeping obligations that apply to sales transactions.

8. Children

TallShot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them (we do not knowingly collect data from anyone).

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes to what the extension does with data would also be reflected in the extension's store listing and release notes.
